The Wood Rat TYPE B Plunge bar system for ¼” Routers

The WoodRat PlungeBar dramatically improves the action of depthing a router. It consists of two or three bars that attach in place of, or above, the existing handles. Depthing and fine adjustment are now smooth, fingertip actions thanks to the added leverage given by the bars. One hand brings the bars together, while the other is free to check the depth of cut.

On The WoodRat

With the PlungeBar, depthing of the router is a one-handed operation. That leaves your other hand free to position the wood, putting you in control of your cut.

In a Router Table

 No more inconvenience and back pain when trying to lift your router against the force of it's springs. The PlungeBar is an essential router table accessory.

Freehand

 The PlungeBar allows you to cut ramping cuts that simply cannot be done accurately by pushing against the work with the traditional handles. This technique is excellent for lettering, and clearing waste in bas-relief carving and moldings.

Mortising And Doweling

 Excellent for mortise operations where you need to traverse back and forth while increasing the depth of cut. This can be done without continually locking and freeing the router depth lock.

Improved Safety

 Instead of having the router revving at 22,000 rpm with the bit dangerously exposed, you can keep the cutter safely concealed and drop it into the wood only when you´re ready to cut.
